It is official, the Mackerel are here! We will be starting our famous 1.5hr mackerel fishing trips on Saturday 29th May just in time for the Whitsun holiday week. Many thanks to all of you that have already booked. Good move, as trips are filling up quickly across the whole of that week.

Trips are now available online until end July. We continue to carry lighter loads (max 8 persons) because of the ongoing Welsh Government 2m social distancing rule. We understand that this might change so we will release August's trips on or around 1st July.

So, get your holiday family fun fishing trip booked with Epic and sit back in the knowledge that you have a great holiday experience to come. Hope to see you soon.

Our Epic Fishing Trips are up and running and available online behind the 'Book Now' button right through to the end of June (we'll release July's trips at the end of May and August's at the end of June - this is just in case Covid-19 regulations in Wales change and we can carry more people). Grab your slots whilst you can, with Whit week beginning to sell quickly, now is the time to get your family fun booked up.

Did you know that Skipper Tim is a member of New Quay Lifeboat crew (in pic, on a rescue)? He's served as a crew member of New Quay Lifeboat for over 15 years now and is proud to be both a Boat Officer and one of the Coxswain team. Not only do you get to go on the most modern, cleanest and most fun fishing trip boat in Wales. You get a time served highly experienced boatman behind the wheel. That's proper.

We are running fishing trips again! Whoop whoop.. it feels so nice to be taking folk out fishing again. And better still we have been catching some amazing fish including this bus of a Bull Huss Shark which Carol was very game to hold up for the pic. At well over 10lb of angry muscle, a shark like that takes some hanging on to. She returned it #noreleasenoglory and good on her for doing so.

Online booking is up and running and there is a selection of trips available to grab. Just hit the Book Now button at the top of the page and a world of fun opportunities will open up to you. Remember that unlike others we do not charge a booking commission fee to book an Epic fishing trip. We have 1.5hr, 2hr, 4hr and 9hr trips available online up until end June with limited spaces on the longer ones. July trips will be available from around 1st June and August trips from 1st July.

Footsteps on New Quay beach mark the route to reopening our Epic fishing trips! Well it makes a nice photo don't you think? So online booking is now up and running for trips. Hurray! There's a selection of trips available to choose from up until end June. We will release more trips for July on 1st June (and a month or so in advance thereafter). We really look forward to welcoming you back aboard Legend of New Quay for an Epic fishing trip.

We were delighted to welcome Michael Ball and Julian Lewis Jones aboard Legend of New Quay yesterday. We were contracted to get involved with their filming for a forthcoming TV series starring Michael. It was a great day out and it made for an excellent sea trial for the forthcoming season. We are pleased to say that things went brilliantly! We continue to plan to start running trips on 26th April once final Welsh Government permissions are in place. You can now find trips to book online here... Yipppppeeeeee! There is a selection of 2hr deep sea fishing trips available through April and May, later in May the 1.5hr Mackerel fishing trips start and there is a small selection of longer trips through to June. Grab them whilst you can as we will only carry a max 8 persons this year (Covid-19 secure).

This wonderful scene of New Quay beach was pictured by us this week. It is extraordinary on two levels; firstly there's people here enjoying the beach and secondly it is only March! Let's hope there is more lovely weather to come this summer. We are planning to start running trips as of the 26th April but the Welsh Government continues to be cautious in easing lockdown restrictions. So we are now starting to schedule fishing trips from 26th but will continue to keep our fingers firmly crossed that this is possible. There is also a chance that things might happen earlier (sorry, we are as confused as you are), the 12th April has been mentioned for non essential shops and we commit to letting you guys know as soon as we do. In the meantime please have a look here for available trips. We are nearly there!

Pic; Legend of New Quay arrives back in New Quay yesterday; despite this exciting step forward we continue to remain 'none the wiser' on when we can start to run trips. Our best guess is that it might be on or around mid-April but there are so many caveats being used by the Welsh Government it is impossible for us to predict the future. So, for now, we must continue to ask for your patience. We know how keen you are to get out on an epic fishing trip and we are ready to get you out fishing as soon as we can. We are proud to take a professional stance in all that we do and this company will not push the envelope. When the time is right, we will be on it; we promise! Because of the continuing Welsh Government led uncertainties we will not open our online booking system yet. We hope you agree that there is no point in taking bookings only to refund them. Let us get this right. Our best Team Epic

The Welsh Government made their long-awaited announcement on the easing of Lockdown Restrictions yesterday Friday 12th March 2021 and to be frank we remain 'none the wiser' on when we can start to run trips. Our best guess is that it might be on or around 12th April but there are so many caveats being used by the Welsh Government it's impossible for us to predict the future. So, for now, we must continue to ask for your patience. We know how keen you are to get out on an epic fishing trip and we will be ready to get you out and fishing as soon as we are able to do so. We are proud to take a professional stance in all that we do and this company will not push the envelope. When the time is right we will be on it; we promise! Because of the continuing Welsh Government led uncertainties we will not open our online booking system yet. We hope you agree that there is no point in taking bookings only to refund them. Let's get this right. Our best Team Epic

As we ponder over if and when the Welsh Government will release us from this latest Covid-19 lockdown, we thought we'd share some fishing pics to brighten up our news page. You will recognise these fish as Black Sea Bream. They are a bonny creature, huge fun to catch and a very rewarding eating experience. For us they are one of the tastiest fish that swim in the sea. June through to early September is the time to catch them and given permission we'll be out there taking you to catch them too! Get in touch if you would like to charter us to target these wonderful fish.

Happy New Year to you all from Team Epic! Let's hope that 2021 will bring good tidings and tight lines. As we write this the whole of the UK is back into a full lockdown again. As the situation progresses we will of course keep you informed here and on our social media sites Facebook and Instagram about the fishing trips we will be able to offer and when. In the meantime have a look at our introductory video here showing Team Epic and our stunning coastline. We hope to see you all in the spring on an epic fishing trip!

Happy Christmas! Was there ever a time where those two words could be more heart felt? It has been a strange year and it is going to be a strange Christmas for us all but let us reassure you that our hugely popular fishing trips will be up and running as soon as we can start going back to normal. For now its a case of sitting the next difficult weeks out and being ready to get going again as soon as we are allowed. The robin on the lobster pot lives in our front garden. He's called Robby and he sings his little heart out every time we come home. Its familiar and reminds us that things tick along just as they always have. Robby always sings, Christmas's always come around and next spring we will be running fishing trips. Happy Christmas everyone.

As the Welsh Government Lockdown ends on Monday 9th November new opportunities open-up to get epic fishing trips out to sea. It is a notoriously difficult time of year for weather through November and December and we have already seen some big storms batter this coastline, so we will watch for nice weather windows. Our boat Legend of New Quay is now berthed in Aberystwyth Marine which allows us quick and easy access to her should the right time come along.

Covid-19 Breaking News: - On Monday 19th October the Welsh Government has announced that the whole of Wales is to lockdown from 23rd October until 9th November. As such we are really sorry but we will not be able to run any fishing trips during this period. As you would expect from Wales's leading fishing trip company, Epic Fishing will apply all relevant Government Guidance to our boat trips if and/or when we are allowed to operate once again.

This is one of our all time favourite pics. It perfectly sums up the fun to be found on an Epic mackerel fishing trip. Which brings us to the latest news nicely :) It seems that the season is extending this year as folk remain keen to get some well deserved days away by the sea side. And what better way to enjoy some fresh sea air than a trip out on our super modern and spotlessly clean boat 'Legend of New Quay'. We will continue to have trips available to book, either over the phone or through our online booking portal. It is late September though and its the time for the weather to break and the sea to start getting choppy, so trips will only be available a few days ahead (c. 2 or 3 days ahead) once we can see the weather forecast clearly.

We can not believe that its nearly September; where did the last six weeks go? Great memories of happy customers catching fish, noise, excitement and the warm glow of holiday memories - all in all, great fun. We are continuing with our phased release of online bookable trips. Its worked well up to now and it gives us the opportunity to monitor Welsh Government Covid-19 Regulations for any changes that may impact on the way we do things. So today we have released trips until Friday 11th September and during the morning of next Saturday 5th September we will be releasing trips for the week beginning Sat 12th September. Our now famous 1.5hr family bubble group trips will continue for now; after all why change a good thing?

Our famous epic fishing trips are available online now, simply hit the Book Now button at the top of every page on our website. Online booking is proving a big hit with customers who seem to be enjoying being able to select their own trip. For now we are only selling our July trips. Working within Welsh Government Guidance and Regulations is a challenge and we await further updates for August. We hope to have August trips available online by the middle of next week.

If you are thinking of booking a trip with us in July please don't delay. We have limited spaces because we can only operate when the tide is in, consequently trip slots are limited and filling fast. And please be aware that Ceredigion County Council has closed Glanmor Terrace to vehicles (the one way road down to the harbour) which means you must park and walk to catch your trip. The handy picture above shows the road closure marked in red.
